Right-wing firebrand Laura Loomer is going all in on allegations that Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) “physically attacked and assaulted” a reporter working for her as he shouted questions at the lawmaker inside the Capitol.
“Do NOT put your hands on my staff,” Loomer said Tuesday after she told her social media followers that a police report had been filed against Crockett. “We are pressing charges against her.”
Loomer spent Tuesday expressing her outrage in a social media thread where she accompanied her anger with a video showing the reporter, Charles Downs, following Crockett as he shoved his camera phone into her face. At that point, Crockett appears to stretch out her hand and cover the camera as she continues walking before the clip abruptly ends.
But the controversy peddled by the MAGA influencer was only beginning.
Loomer took to her X account to claim that the Texas Democrat attempted “to violently steal” Downs’ phone and added that Crockett’s “long finger nails scratched his hand, leaving a red mark and indentations from her nails on the top of his hand.”

“It’s clear elected Democrats have embraced violence against Trump supporters and members of the independent media, even in the halls of Congress,” Loomer wrote Tuesday.
She urged House Speaker Mike Johnson to censure Crockett “immediately for her incitement of violence and her actual violence in the halls of Congress.” She also called out Rep. Tim Burchett (R-TN), who was walking alongside Crockett, for not intervening as he instead continued his jovial conversation with her.
“He is a witness to the assault,” Loomer insisted.
According to Downs, he filed his report against Crockett with Capitol Police Tuesday afternoon for assault, battery and attempted theft of his cell phone, which he said in a social media post occurred “simply because I respectfully asked her to condemn the violence she has been inciting at @Tesla Showrooms.”
