FBI agents who supported the Black Lives Matter movement by kneeling for a photo in support of George Floyd, who was killed in 2020 by an officer in Minneapolis, are being reassigned, according to a report.
Those in the photo are next on President Donald Trump’s retribution list after conservatives said the photo proves the FBI has a “liberal agenda,” The Washington Post reported.
“The reassignments have angered current and former colleagues, who say FBI agents are not trained for riot control, and these officers were being unjustly punished for trying to defuse a tense situation,” the Post said in the report. “Some of those interviewed, speaking on the condition of anonymity to avoid retribution, said they see it as another example of the Trump administration punishing personnel who are considered part of the liberal ‘deep state.'”

At least four of the people in the photo were reassigned to positions that were “widely viewed as demotions,” sources told the Post. They had previously been in top posts that navigated “counterintelligence, counterterrorism and cybercrime.”
