A Donald Trump-appointed judge ordered the administration to seek the return of a second man improperly deported to El Salvador.
Maryland-based U.S. District judge Stephanie Gallagher ruled the administration had violated a legally binding court settlement from last year by deporting the 20-year-old to the Central American nation, reported Politico.
The U.S. had agreed in that court-approved settlement not to deport migrants who arrived as unaccompanied minors until their asylum claims have been fully adjudicated.

Court papers identified the man as “Christian” and showed he had arrived in the U.S. as an unaccompanied minor and sought asylum in December 2022.
That asylum claim was still pending when he was deported last month, according to reports.
