Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) has canceled planned appearances to promote his new book amid fury at his decision to sign onto a Republican bill to keep the federal government open.
The New York Times reports that Schumer “postponed a multicity tour to promote his forthcoming book” that was to include appearances in Atlanta, Washington, Baltimore, Philadelphia and New York, and other locations.
Democratic activists, who have already been protesting outside of Schumer’s home and office, had been planning protests at every stop of his book tour.
Schumer on Friday backed the House-passed Republican bill even though it did nothing to rein in X owner Elon Musk, who has been slashing federal agencies despite lacking any form of legal authority to do so.
