Ryan Walters, the Oklahoma superintendent of schools, appeared in an advertisement for Lee Greenwood’s “God Bless the USA” Bible and urged donations of the holy book to schools despite the state Supreme Court’s order blocking its purchase.
During a Monday interview sponsored by Greenwood’s Bible sales, Walters told Real America’s Voice that the book should be in the classroom for historical reasons.
“You know, first of all, the Supreme Court has issued a stay here on some of our Bibles and the materials around the Bibles because we also have lesson plans that we want to coincide with these Bibles,” the superintendent explained. “But yeah, you know, we want Bibles in the classroom so kids understand the relevance and the historical impact the Bible had throughout American history.”
“It wasn’t even questioned until the 1960s and the Supreme Court became so radicalized here in this country,” he continued. “And so listen, you know, we’re going to continue to move forward.”
“We’ve got a great partnership with Lee Greenwood, BiblesForOklahoma.com, where folks can donate Bibles to Oklahoma classrooms. So we’re going to continue to move in that direction.”
Walters pledged not to “back down” on the issue. He also defended lesson plans that aim to teach children about so-called “discrepancies” in the 2020 election.
“So students would look at factors like the sudden halting of ballot counting in select cities and key battleground states,” Real America’s Voice host David Brody explained.

“Listen, we’re going to make sure that our kids actually study history, actually study facts, not just lies and that have been pushed in certain media outlets, you know,” Walters insisted. “And so, again, we want students to be able to look at facts, look at history, and come to an understanding that there’s nothing in there that we put in there that isn’t just, I mean, it’s a fact, the left didn’t have to like it, but that is very, very true in the 2020 election.”
