Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) scolded her constituents for a flood of calls to her office after she declined to participate in town hall events in her district.
Last month, Mace declined an invitation from the Lowcountry Accountability Alliance to appear at one town hall event. Constituents went ahead with the gathering anyway.
The lawmaker revealed on Monday that she had since been deluged with “deranged” requests that she speak to voters in person.
“Your BS calls are taking away from people who have real needs in our community,” Mace complained on X. “Not one person has any issue with a federal agency that we can assist them with.”
Mace argued that there were about 300 “completely evil” callers.
“You don’t have any issues that need to be resolved,” she insisted. “You’re just being nasty. You’re being ugly. You’re being hateful. Stop it.”

“Stop being this way. Stop being violent with your words,” Mace added. “Stop being ugly and hateful.”
Lowcountry Accountability Alliance organizer Guang Ming Whitley has previously said that Mace was calling voters extreme to avoid accountability.
“I just think it’s unfortunate that we live in a world where anyone who disagrees with you is going to be branded as deranged or extreme,” Whitley said. “I think she needs to see and feel the impacts that people are feeling from what’s happening at the federal level.”
