Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, a former Fox News weekend co-host, has reportedly ordered his agency to install a makeup studio in the department’s headquarters at the Pentagon.
Hegseth approved thousands of dollars in spending for a room where he can apply makeup before television appearances, CBS News reported. The room was formerly used for briefings and is located next to the Pentagon press briefing room, the report said.
“Changes and upgrades to the Pentagon Briefing Room are nothing new and routinely happen during changes in an administration,” a Pentagon spokesperson told the outlet.

“The room previously had minimal furnishings — a table with chairs, a TV, photos of former defense secretaries and a mirror on the back of the door,” CBS News reported. “The table was removed and a new chair and large mirror with makeup lighting was installed, another source said.”
Hegseth has vowed to emphasize war-fighting and readiness during his tenure at the department.
