A law professor on Sunday explained what she would tell lawyers who are considering cutting a deal with Donald Trump.
The president has inked numerous deals with law firms who have represented interests opposite to his own, sometimes requiring them to perform pro bono services in exchange for avoiding punishments at the federal level.
Former U.S. Attorney Barbara McQuade appeared on MSNBC over the weekend to discuss the deals.

Of the “murky” deals, McQuade said, “One of the things we haven’t seen is the details.”
“Is he going to require them to work on deportation of immigrants?” she asked. “We don’t know!”
She called the deals “extortionate demands,” and referred to her former work as a prosecuting attorney.
“The extortionist always comes back for more,” she warned. “You think you paid him off with $10,000 and your building isn’t going to be burned down, but guess what? He comes back next month and now he wants another $10,000.”
Asked if lawyers saw these attacks coming, the legal analyst said the first wave probably didn’t know. But of those who claimed ignorance after that, she said, “shame on them.”
She ended the segment by saying that, “When you get in the mud with a pig, you all get muddy.”
