
Rep. Andy Biggs (R-AZ) said Friday that one of his six children has died.
Biggs wrote on social media that his daughter Cosette “lost her battle with cancer.”
“We are devastated by her passing but take comfort knowing she is at peace with the Lord,” Biggs said in the statement. “We are grateful our family could gather together to spend her final days by her side.

Biggs thanked the public for their “thoughts, prayers, and support.”
“We are humbled by this great community and the outpouring of love for Cosette and our family,” he said.
Biggs was first elected to serve Arizona’s 5th District in 2016. He currently serves on the House Oversight and Accountability Committee and the House Judiciary Committee, where he chairs of the Judiciary Subcommittee on Crime and Federal Government Surveillance.
Biggs is also a former chair of the House Freedom Caucus.
