Bradley Bartell can’t stop thinking about his vote for President Donald Trump after his immigrant wife, Camila Muñoz, was detained by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
Last month, the couple was returning from their honeymoon in Puerto Rico when an ICE agent at the airport pulled aside Muñoz.
USA TODAY reported that Muñoz was one of many women who entered the country legally and were detained at an airport despite not having a criminal record.
“If you are not a citizen of the United States, and you are going through an immigration process, your first thought needs to be: How can this process be weaponized against me?” Nora Ahmed of the ACLU told the paper.
Muñoz had overstayed her visa but was going through the process to become a legal U.S. permanent resident.
“What the f— do I do?” Bartell remembered thinking as ICE agents took his wife.
Muñoz is now being held at a private detention center in Louisiana.

“Emotionally, I’m concerned for her,” Bartell admitted to USA Today. “It can’t be easy being trapped in a room with 100 other people. They don’t have anything in there. It’s just so wasteful.”
According to the report, the couple has “been thinking a lot about Bartell’s vote for Trump.”
“I knew they were cracking down,” he remarked. “I guess I didn’t know how it was going down.”
