MAGA TV host Gina Loudon worried that “money-grubbing” welfare recipients would benefit from the $5,000 incentives President Donald Trump is reportedly considering for households with new children.
During a Thursday discussion about the so-called baby bonuses, Loudon threw cold water on the idea.
“Love me some babies. Love me some Trumpy,” Loudon said. “I don’t know about handing people $5,000 cash.”
“It is just not something that I want people doing with any incentive other than God leading them,” she continued. “And I worry about people who are money-grubbing doing it for the wrong reasons… I worry about somebody on welfare, and $5,000 sounds like a lot of money to them. Now, could President Trump put in measures so that people on welfare don’t get the $5,000? Sure.”
Loudon noted that Trump might be criticized if the incentives were only given to wealthy individuals.
“I just really think it’s dangerous,” she warned.
Co-host Terrence Bates recommended a tax benefit instead of a cash incentive.
“Because that, to me, if there’s a tax benefit, it implies that you’re working, that you’re doing something,” he said.

Loudon agreed: “The thing that concerns me is, you know, even when you do have, let’s say, a woman who’s gotten out of an abusive relationship, and she’s on welfare for a moment, and she needs that extra $5,000, I just, you know, I love the life incentive whenever we have it.”
“I love that President Trump is open to ideas like this,” she added. “I just hope if he’s listening that I think we should really think through some of the implications of this, because I think this could be a train wreck for a lot of single moms out there, for a lot of babies, you know, just for really a lot of Americans that might not think this through all the way.”
